Las Cruces Spring Excel Club of NM Rally

This is our clubs semi-annual gathering of the members. Now that we're FT RV'rs, we were able to arrive early and stay later. We pulled into Hacienda RV Park, http://www.haciendarv.com/, on April 23rd and stayed until the 30th. This is always a fun time for everyone and it's a great park. They even have a nice breakfast each morning, if you want, and a Margarita party on Friday.

We had a great spot near the club house and was assigned the spot next to one of the other FT RV'rs, Mel & Karol Nefzger. Karol met us and guided Roseann into the spot. Yes, Roseann drove from just south of Albuquerque to Las Cruces. It's so nice for me to be able to experience the scenery and not worry about the driving.

By Friday everyone was there and we just had some great time catching up on all of the goings on from everyone. It also the time for us to catch up on the latest changes from the Excel RV world. The surprise this time was the new color introduced by Excel. It's a grey and looks sharp. I just imagined all the cleaning because of the dirt that it will show.

Mel and I spent time "shopping" for the "must haves" for the RVs. We scouted around and found a different whole house water regulator. It sure gives a lot better water flow than the original one that we got when we bought the trailer.

There was time to explore each others RVs to get ideas for decorating and just neat added living amenities. It also a time when the guys get together and try to solve some of the day to day issues that arise from having a "condo on wheels in a constant earthquake". It's a time for laughing, crying as we remember those friends who have passed on, and praying for the health and safe travel of all. We were represented by only 5 different states this year, NM, SD, CO, AZ, & AK. Last year I think we had 13.

By Monday night there were only a few of the club members left. We spent quite time and went out to visit the pecan farms south of Las Cruces. It is some operation. It depends on who you ask, but NM is either #1 or #2 in pecan production. They sure taste great when they're real fresh. Dark Chocolate pecan brittle is UMMMM Good!!

Wednesday was back to Albuquerque for the final pack out from the house. It's now time to finish up everything and begin our lives on the road.
